Physical therapy at native pilates
Meet dr. aimee bailey
PT, DPT, 200hr RYT Physical Therapy and Pelvic Floor Therapy
We are so excited to have Dr. Aimee Bailey at Native Pilates!
By trade, I am a Physical Therapist. I received my Master’s (2004) and Doctorate degrees (2006) in Physical Therapy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I have been in practice for over 20 years and have worked in a variety of settings and clinically treated patients from premature birth to end of life. My passion is pelvic health and I have received additional training from the American Physical Therapy Section of Pelvic Health, Herman Wallace, Nicole Cozean with Pelvic Sanity, John Barnes Myofascial Release, RockTape Certified Kinesiotaping Specialist, KickPink Breast Cancer Certification and am a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.
I feel that health care should be viewed through a holistic lens and each person treated as a whole, not a diagnosis, disorder or problem. Based on this belief, I decided to further my education- so I completed a 200 hour yoga certification (2016), prenatal yoga certification (2015), paddle board and paddle board yoga certifications (2018). These trainings gave me a better understanding of how to teach movement patterns and support people in ways that were different from the traditional therapy model. Plus, they were fun and filled my soul.
I opened my physical therapy practice, Terra Lotus Physical Therapy and Wellness, in October 2018, and over time I realized that I could impact women by helping them to achieve goals outside of their physical health- this led to a Certification in Life Coaching (2019), Health Coaching (2022) and Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach through Brianna Battles.
My passion for helping women continues to grow, so I recently became a Certified Women’s Health Coach through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute and am currently pursuing Pilates Teacher Training through Native Pilates.
